DAY 1

 

08:00

Depart from Khabarovsk to the administrative center of Nanai region – Troitskoye village (189 km along highway to Komsokolsk-na-Amure, 2,5 hours on the way).

10:30

Arrive to Troitskoye. Visit to local ethnographic museum devoted to the Nanai culture.

 

Excursion around the village, visit to local church.

12:30

Transfer to the neighboring Nanai village Dzhari.

 

Meeting Nanai folklore ceremony.

 

Excursion in the local cultural center: history of the village and local families.

13:30

Lunch of Nanai dishes (ukha, tala) in the open-air or Nanai style camps. Demonstration of Nanai dishes cooking.

 

Nanai folklore show (30-40 min) by local ensemble “Igla dyarini” (Singing ornaments).

 

Nanai folklore games and rituals, national musical instruments.

16:00

Nanai handcrafters activities: beading, birch bark products, thread embroidery, fish skin and scales clothes.

 

Meeting with far-known Nanai master of embroidery Valentina Beldy.

18:00

Accommodation at Nanai family.

Getting acquainted with family lifestyle.

 

Dinner at home.

 

Wooden banya (at request).

 

Overnight at homestay.

DAY 2

Breakfast at homestay.

Excursion around Dzhari village.

 

Visit to local old residents’ house.

Ecological path in the nearby forest and along Amur river.  Learning about the Far-eastern flora and endemics, collecting wild  plants (seasonal).

15:00

Nanai style fishing from the boat (by nets or river bank with rods).

 

Master-class in Nanai dishes cooking:

-          ukha made of 4 types of white fish;

-          tala (fresh fish Nanai dish);

-          stroganina;

-          open-fire fried fish;

-          “5-minutes caviar” (seasonal);

-          salads from Far-eastern taiga endemics (seasonal).

Dinner of Nanai dishes.

 

Farewell folklore ceremony.

Depart back to Khabarovsk.

Arrival to Khabarovsk.
